What can you do with a Dado-Charthop integration?

The Dado <> Charthop Integration allows you to:

• use Charthop as a source for importing users and updating user data

What data is exchanged between Dado and Charthop?

Charthop data accessible to Dado:

Dado connects to Charthop via their API, using an API key generated by a particular Charthop user. Dado can in theory access any data in Charthop accessible to this user.

In practice, which data is synced to Dado is determined by you, when you set up Charthop as an import source and select which fields should be imported (see 'Adding Charthop as a User Import Source' below).

Once the integration is set up, Dado will import data for all users in Charthop. That means it is not possible to restrict Dado's access to a subset of the users in Charthop.

No employee data is synced back from Dado to Charthop

How to set up the Charthop integration

Step 1. Create API credentials in Charthop

• Log into your Charthop account and make a note of the subdomain the URL bar. You will need this for step 2.
  • If your ChartHop URL is "https://app.charthop.com/acme/home", your subdomain is acme

  • 

• Now click on Apps and Bundles in the left-hand side navigation

• Click on the Other available apps tab and search for Dado

  

• Click on Dado and then, on the next screen, click Install

  

• You'll now be shown your API key. Copy this and move on to the next step.

Step 2. Set up the integration in Dado

• Log in to Dado and navigate to Settings in the top navigation. 
• Under Settings, choose Integrations from the left-side menu. A list of integrations is shown – click Charthop (updated).
• You’ll be asked to input the details you collected in the previous step:
  • Subdomain
  • API key
• Click Save. Dado will quickly check your credentials and, if they're valid, your integration will be set up
  • If you see an error at this point, please reach out to the Dado support team who can help you work through it.
