What can you do with a Dado-Namely integration?
The Dado <> Namely Integration allows you to:
- use Namely as a source for importing users and updating user data
- let employees answer questions in Dado and sync the answers to the employee's Namely profile
What data is exchanged between Dado and Namely?
Namely data accessible to Dado:
Dado connects to Namely via their API, using an API key generated by a particular Namely user. Dado can in theory access any data in Namely accessible to this user.
In practice, which data is synced to Dado is determined by you, when you set up Namely as an import source and select which fields should be imported (see 'Adding Namely as a User Import Source' below).
Once the integration is set up, Dado will import data for all users in Namely. That means it is not possible to restrict Dado's access to a subset of the users in Namely.
How to set up the Namely integration
1. Create an API key in Namely
- Log in to Namely and click the User icon upper right-hand corner of any page to get to the user menu
If you have sufficient permissions, you will see API in this menu. Click on this menu item.
- On the API page, click on the Personal Access Tokens tab
- Create a new access token. We suggest you name the token something like "Dado integration". Copy your token – you'll need it in the next step.
- While you're here, also make a name of your Namely subdomain. This is the part of the URL for your Namely account that comes right before .namely.com
- For instance, if the URL is https://acmecorp.namely.com, then your Namely subdomain is acmecorp
2. Set up the integration in Dado
- Log in to Dado and navigate to Settings in the top navigation.
- Under Settings, choose Integrations from the left-side menu. A list of integrations is shown – click Namely.
- You’ll be asked to enter the subdomain and API key you created in the previous step.
- Click save.
- It may take a few seconds to finalize the connection with Namely. The connection has been successfully set up when you're returned to the Integrations page.
You're now ready to set up Namely as an import source, and start importing data into Dado!
