A guide to statuses of Tasks, Messages and Automations

When you're checking on the status of a particular employee's experience or a particular Timeline Item, you'll see a variety of different statuses for Tasks, Messages and Automations. Here's a quick guide to what they all mean.

Contents

Where do you see Task/Message/Automation statuses?

You'll see these in several different places:

  1. The individual experience view

  1. The People tab when you're looking at any Timeline Item

  1. The reports for a Timeline Item

These are accessible from the Schedule and reports.

Automation statuses

This Automation is scheduled to run in the future. Look just below "Upcoming" to see when.

This Automation ran successfully. Check just below this colored text for what was done.

An issue prevented this Automation from running. Check just below this colored text for exactly what went wrong

This Automation was skipped, so it did not run.

Anyone with view or edit access to the Experience in the Dado Admin app can skip Automations.

Message statuses

This Message is scheduled to send in the future. Look just below "Upcoming" to see when.

This Message was sent successfully to at least one channel (eg Teams, SMS, email). If sending failed to any of the channels, you'll see an issue in the issues bar.

Issues prevented this Message sending to all channels (eg Teams, SMS, email). Check just below this colored text for exactly what went wrong

This Message was skipped, so it was not sent.

Anyone with view or edit access to the Experience in the Dado Admin app can skip Messages.

You're very unlikely to see this status, as it usually exists for less than 2 seconds, between Dado starting the process of sending a message, and finishing it.

If you see this for longer than half a minute, this likely indicates an issue with tracking the success of sending the notification sending. In most cases, the message has been succesfully delivered, but Dado has not been able to track the sending.

Please contact the Dado support team if you see this and have questions/concerns.

Task statuses

This Task is scheduled to start in the future. Look just below "Upcoming" to see when.

This task has started, but its deadline has not yet passed. If you set a notification to be sent upon Task start, this notification was successfully sent.

This Task is done, because all the requirements for completion have been met. That can mean all sub-tasks have been completed; or (if you have set more complex completion criteria), the specified sub-tasks have been completed

This Task is not done, and its deadline has passed.

This could mean that none of the Sub-tasks have been completed; or some were completed, but not enough to meet the completion criteria you've set.

This status is only used for optional Tasks. It indicates that the Task has passed its deadline, but is not completed. It is essentially a gentler version of Overdue status.

An issue prevented this Task from starting or the notification from sending. Check just below this colored text for exactly what went wrong.

This Task was skipped, so it will not appear for the assignee.
