Setting up Microsoft Entra SSO (aka Azure SSO)

This article focuses just on setting up Microsoft Entra SSO. For more general information on using SSO with Dado, please see our SSO help article.

Time required: 10 minutes

Pre-requisites: a Microsoft user who has Global Admin permissions

1. Ask your Dado Customer Success Manager to initiate SSO set up

Your Dado Customer Success Manager will switch on this feature in your account, and then trigger an email invitation to you – see Step 2.

2. Accept the Dado invitation via email

Your Dado Success Manager will trigger an invitation to set up a Dado account. This will be sent to your email account.

Click the button to accept the invitation.

3. Log in to Dado via your Microsoft account

You will be redirected to a Dado page where you are asked to confirm your email address.

After this, you'll be asked to log in with your Microsoft account.

4. Accept the Dado permissions request

After logging in with Microsoft, you will see a Permissions request generated by Microsoft.

Check the Consent on behalf of your organization checkbox, then click the Accept button.

This will add the Dado SSO app to your Entra enterprise apps.

5. Assign the Dado SSO app to the relevant employees/groups

  • Go to the Entra admin center, and click Enterprise apps in the left hand navigation
  • Find the Dado SSO app in the table in the All applications section. Click on the name Dado SSO to open the settings for this app.

  • Select Assign users and groups

  • Click Add user/group and select the users and/or groups who should be able to use the Dado SSO application. This should include:
    • Every employee who will need to log in to the admin side of Dado – where the experiences are created and managed
    • [Optionally] Every employee who will be sent tasks and notifications by Dado
      • This is only necessary if you will require all employees to log in to Dado via SSO. Consult with your Dado Customer Success Manager to understand whether this is the right choice for your organization.

5. [Optionally] Switch on SSO for employees

Go to Settings > Integrations and click on the Microsoft SSO card.

Turn on the toggle for Employees. Please note, this can take a few seconds to confirm, due to slow responses from the Microsoft API.
