Sending a Moment to just a subset of your employees

Some Moments should be sent to everyone in your organization; some are just for select groups. For instance, only a departmental offsite is only relevant for employees in that department.

Moments makes it easy to send a message to a subset of employees, using Target Audiences.

1. Set up a Target Audience for the employees who should receive the Moment

  • In the "To" section of your Moment, create a new Target Audience for the employees who should receive this message
  • If you need to customize the content so different recipients receive different content, create as many Audiences as you will have content versions.
  • Once you're finished, save your changes to the "To" section.

2. Copy across any already-created content you'd like to keep

You can skip this step if:

  • you are not using a template
  • you have not yet created any content for this moment

If neither of these are true, you'll need to copy across the template content/already created content to your new target audience, before you move on to the next step:

  • Click 'edit' ion the Content section of your Moment. This will open a new window.
  • Click on the tab that corresponds to the Target Audience you created in the last step
  • In the 'Copy content' dropdown in the centre of the screen, select 'Everyone Else'
    • this will copy across any content you've already created or the template you're using, to your new Target Audience

3. Delete the Everyone Else audience

  • In the "To" section of your Moment, click the trash-can icon next to the Everyone Else Audience
  • This will ensure the Moment is only sent to the employees who qualify for the custom Audiences you've created.

You're now ready to continue setting up the rest of your Moment, ie creating content, customizing the subject line and adjusting the send-date.
